Call out to techies!

Ok... so I have a problem. I was given delightful anime by the gracious [info]yami_tai, but I can't get it to play. When I put it in the computer, the disc shows up. I click on the disc and it opens up a window listing the episodes, but with no icons. When I click on the episodes (minus icons) they just disappear. So, I tried a different tack. I went into quicktime and hit open file and highlighted the file on the disc and clicked open, and it said, "error. file not found." Can someone please tell me what's going on?! I've tried quicktime, realplayer, vlc, and windows media player. I don't know what to do!!!!

Go to download.com and get the Core Media Player, AND AllPlayer. One or the other will hopefully play it for you, they've played stuff for me that no other would open.

What's the file extension? If it's .ogm, which a lot of anime is coded in, Core is the best one I've found for those.

Hope that helps!

If the stuff scarlet_bliss suggested doesn't work, go here and download the xvid codec, this works for a whole freaking lot of videos.
